Review: Avons Anew Vitale night gel cream

17:00 0 Comments A+ a-

As i turn 25 next month i thought i should start looking to buy my first anti wrinkle creams and when i had a little nosey in the Avon catalogue i saw that they had anti wrinkle creams for different ages, i ordered the one for my age range which was the pink packaged one. You probably know how long it takes for Avon to be delivered so when order finally arrived i was super excited to try it out.

That night i tried it and as it touched my skin i immediately hated it. The formula stung my skin and left it feeling dry and dehydrated, even just after i had applied the cream. It smells cheap and like soap. For 12 pound a pot i think it is quite dear for what it does. I've just wasted 12 pound on one use waste your money on it, so what ever you do don't buy this and waste yours too. Especially if like me your skin is dry and sensitive.
These are only my opinions on the product, so if you they work well for you then im glad.
I have bought the day cream aswell but i haven't tried that yet, im sure it will probably be the same. I'll keep you updated though so keep an eye out.

Do you know of any anti wrinkle creams suitable for sensitive skin? I'd love to know so i can try them out.

Something Different

Most of you may not know this but i am a fully qualified hairdresser. I qualified back in 2011 and struggled to find a job in a salon so after a year of searching i got a job in retail instead. The only hair i do now is my families (bonus for them) So when my cousin asked me to do her hair recently i thought i'd share with you how i did it. It was quite a bit of a change, she had faded red/orange hair and wanted to go blue.

To stop her hair from going purple i had to bleach the red/orange tones out. To start with i applied the bleach to the mid lengths and ends and when the red tones had nearly disappeared i applied some bleach with a very low developer to her roots as she had quite naturally dark brown hair and only left if on for a little while. I then washed out the bleach and shampooed her hair. Afterwards i dried her hair and mixed the blue dye.

I applied the dye straight from her roots to her ends making sure i coated the hair well so i didnt leave any blonde patches. The dye was left on for 45 minutes was washed, shampooed and had a lot of conditioner put on. Because bleach can be quite damaging i gave her hair a good cut to get rid of the dead dry ends and added her some long layers to add a bit of texture to her hair. I then blow dried her hair added her a long side fringe and clippered the side of her head using the number 1 guard. And Voila the finished look.

I'm so pleased with how it turned out and my cousin is really happy with it also.

Let me know if you would like to see more of this kind of thing on here.
Have you had any wacky hair colours?

Fathers Day!

17:00 0 Comments A+ a-

Happy Fathers day Dad and to all the Fathers out there. Im so proud of my Dad and all the running that he does. He ran over the Golden gate bridge yesterday in San Francisco. What an amazing thing for him to be able to do. Here are a few snaps of us together.

A dad is a person
who is loving and kind,
And often he knows
what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens,
suggests and defends.
A Dad can be one
of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs,
but when things go wrong,
A Dad can be patient
and helpful and strong
In all that you do,
a Dads love plays a part,
There's always a place for him
deep in your heart.
And each year that passes,
your even more glad,
More grateful and proud
just to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad...
for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you!
Happy Fathers Day!

Funfetti shortbread squares

17:58 0 Comments A+ a-

I was scrolling through pinterest when i came across these funfetti shortbread pieces. I immediately knew i had to make them myself. They looked amazing. I thought they would be cool and fun to make for picnic or for snacking on at home on rainy days like today whilst cuddled up on the sofa.
This is how i made them.

Ingredients

  • 125g butter
  • 55g caster sugar( plus extra)
  • 180g plain flour
  • Hundreds and thousands
Method
  1. Pre heat the oven to 190 degrees Gas 5
  2. Beat the butter and sugar together until smooth
  3. Sift in the flour, mix and then add your sprinkles and mix some more.
  4. Once a dough is formed roll out on top a worktop and cut into squares. Place on a baking tray and sprinkle sugar over the top. Chill in the fridge for 20 minutes
  5. After the shortbread has been chilled, bake in the oven for 15 - 20 minutes or until a pale golden brown. Leave to cool and enjoy!

I didnt have any hundreds and thousands and had to make do with the dotty ones, they still worked but they just didnt keep the colour as much.
I hope you enjoy making these, let me know how you decide to enjoy them. Feel free to send me your pictures of the ones youve made, i will love to see how they come out.

Ive started to post a bit more on Instagram, so i thought id share with you a little of what ive been snapping. If you want to follow me you can search naomichedz and up i'll pop :) I've also got a new twitter account @Missshortstuff9

  1. I saw these notebooks on ebay and just had to have them, i love the contrast with the black and white to the gold spots/Zigzags. Recently im really into my stationary especially my notebooks and ive just found a nice new website where i can spend all my money.
  2. I love Lillies of any kind, these sprouted up in my mums garden last month. How gorgeous do they look?
  3. For those of you that don't know this is Roxy, she is my princess. I love taking random snaps of her and couldn't resist this opportunity when she was taking a little dog nap. Surely she cannot be comfortable though?!
  4. Total hair envy right here! I so wish my hair would look like this! I wouldnt even mind if it was just styled like this. (I can never make plaits look right in my hair)
  5. I love spontaneous days out with my bestfriend and this little monkey, we had lots of fun. These last 3 pictures were all taken at Walton Hall and gardens in Warrington, such a nice place!
  6. I also love taking pictures of flowers, this is just one of many they had in the gardens.
  7. This ice cream was amazing! Although the sherbet on the cone got a bit much. It took me right back to my childhood hearing the ice cream van come down the road and then begging your mum and dad to let you have one.

What have you guys been up to, comment below?  What is your top pick from the ice cream man?

Review: The Body Shop pink grapefruit bundle

17:00 0 Comments A+ a-

How nice has it been lately guys? I hope you've been out side sunning yourselves up, like me.
I really can't believe we are in June already, wow! Half the year gone, that's crazy.

Last week I went shopping with Sam, the plan was to get a nice dress ready to go out in on Saturday night. While we were shopping we had a nosey in the body shop. They have some amazing smelling products in at the minute, especially that new Pinita Colada range.
I needed to get a new moisturiser and needed a body mist, and when I smelt ( is that a word? It is now) the pink grapefruit range i knew I had to try some of their stuff.

The pink grapefruit body most was £7.50 and the pink grapefruit body sorbet was £8 I think. I then spotted a pink grapefruit bundle for £12 which consisted of the body mist, body sorbet and shower gel. How good is that? I snapped that straight up!
The body mist has a very zingy but refreshing smell which will be great for summer. With it being a mist and not. Perfume it doesn't last long, but you only need a couple of spritz a day and your good to go. It can be. But over powering for some.
The body sorbet isn't your typical kind of moisturiser, it is light in texture and it just melts into your skin. It absorbs really quick and leaves your skin feeling silky soft for hours on end.
I haven't used the shower gel yet but I'm sure that too will be just as good as these other two products.

What is your favourite body shop range? I hope you guys have a lovely weekend  and enjoy the sunshine while its here.
